ORLANDO, FL – Charlotte Premier Sports has been officially named the 2026 Rookie NFL Flag League of the Year. The award was presented this week during the 2026 Next Play Summit held in Orlando, Florida.

The "Rookie of the Year" honor is awarded to a new league that demonstrates exceptional growth, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to the values of NFL Flag football within its first years of operation.

A Landmark Moment in Orlando

League owner Keisha Hamilton-Stewart, was in attendance at the summit to personally accept the award. Surrounded by youth sports leaders from across the country, Hamilton-Stewart was recognized for her vision in bringing a high-caliber, community-focused football experience to Southwest Charlotte.

CPSL Royals Represented the Panthers at the NFL Flag Championship!

This was a monumental achievement for the team and our entire league. After a great performance at the Carolina Panthers NFL Flag Regional Tournament, the Royals emerged victorious, solidifying their spot to compete on the national stage at the Pro Football Hall of Fame from July 17-20.

Looking ahead, we're excited to announce that the Carolina Panthers plan to host a Panthers NFL Flag Regional tournament next spring! This will be an incredible opportunity for all our age groups, from 8U to high school boys & girls, to compete for the chance to qualify and represent the Panthers at the national championships in Ohio next summer.

Royals Lead the Way to Nationals

A major highlight of the Spring 2025 season was the exceptional performance of the CPSL Royals High School girls' team. This formidable squad will represent our league and the Carolina Panthers at the 2025 NFL Flag Championship in Canton, OH, from July 17-20! The Royals earned their national spot by winning the Panthers NFL Flag Regionals.

New Look, Same Flag Football Fun!

Charlotte Premier Sports has also unveiled a fresh new look. We remain dedicated to delivering the same high-quality, fun, and developmental flag football experience our families expect.

Summer Clinics: We invite all players to sharpen their skills at our upcoming CPSL Summer Flag Football Clinics at Elon Recreation Center. These specialized sessions are designed for skill development.
FFJ National Team Selection Camp: Charlotte Premier Sports is partnering with Flag Football Jamaica (FFJ) to host a National Team Selection Camp at Palisades High School. This is an exciting opportunity to watch talented flag players with Jamaican backgrounds try out for their national team to compete in Panama.

Charlotte's Premier Sports League (CPSL) is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated kick-off of our Spring NFL Flag season! With an incredible turnout of over 300 young athletes at our recent pre-season clinic, and a phenomenal 40 teams registered, we're gearing up for an unforgettable season of flag football.

The energy and enthusiasm displayed at our clinic were truly inspiring, setting the stage for what promises to be a dynamic and exciting season. We're proud to be the only league in Charlotte offering all-girls divisions from ages 8 through high school, and we're committed to providing a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for all our young athletes.

Our focus remains on developing fundamental football skills, fostering teamwork, and instilling a love for the game. With divisions ranging from Lil' Rookies (4-6 years) to Elite (14-18 years), there’s a place for everyone to learn and grow.
